Driver CPC with Captain Slow

Introducing Brian Kingsbury — better known as Captain Slow.

Believe it or not, Captain Slow is joining Transcom National Training as a guest Driver CPC trainer, bringing decades of real-world driving experience into the classroom for a very different kind of CPC day.

⚠ Fair Warning Captain Slow will be sharing the wealth of knowledge he has accumulated over the several hundred years he appears to have been driving. We are fairly confident you'll learn something. We're absolutely certain you'll be entertained.

Not Your Average Driver CPC Day

Nobody wants to spend seven hours sitting in a classroom listening to someone simply read PowerPoint slides.

This course is different.

Captain Slow will be drawing on decades of actual driving experience, the things that happen in the real world and the lessons you only really learn after spending a career around trucks and transport.

You'll complete seven hours of periodic Driver CPC training while spending the day with people who have genuinely done the job.

Why Captain Slow?

This one is a little different for me personally.

I've known Brian for decades. Long before Transcom National Training existed, Brian and I were driving together and doing plenty of work into Europe.

We've shared motorways, ferry ports, borders, transport yards and probably far too many stories that shouldn't make it into a Driver CPC syllabus.

After all these years, I decided it was finally time to bring our combined experience together and inflict it on a classroom full of drivers.

And for anyone who only knows me as the bloke behind Transcom National Training — believe it or not, I used to drive trucks as well.

What to Expect on the Day

  • 7 hours of periodic Driver CPC training
  • Guest trainer Captain Slow
  • Decades of real-world transport experience
  • Classroom-based training
  • Relatively small group size
  • West Midlands venue
  • Conveniently located just off Junction 3 of the M42
  • A Driver CPC day designed for professional drivers

Who's It For?

This event is aimed at professional drivers who need to complete periodic Driver CPC hours but would rather spend the day with people who understand what working in transport is actually like.

If you'd prefer real discussion, genuine industry experience and a bit of humour over seven hours of death by PowerPoint, this one should be right up your street.
