Driver CPC Compliance FAQs

Do I need Driver CPC training?
Most professional LGV (HGV) and PCV drivers need Driver CPC. If you are driving commercially you must complete 35 hours every 5 years.
Can I do Driver CPC courses online?
Yes. These are live, instructor-led online courses delivered via Zoom. Training is attendance-based and counts as a full 7 hours per course.
Is this valid for National and International CPC?
Yes. Our 7-hour courses are fully valid for both National (UK) and International (EU) Driver CPC requirements.
Can I drive if I forgot my DQC card at home?
No. You must carry your Driver Qualification Card (DQC) when driving professionally. If you cannot produce it at the roadside, you can receive a £50 fixed penalty.
Can the Traffic Commissioner take regulatory action against a driver?
Yes. In certain circumstances, regulatory decisions can be made about the conduct of professional drivers. Read the GOV.UK guidance here .
